Thank you for not liking District 9. So many people were gushing over what I thought was a terrible movie, that I thought I was taking crazy pills. The plot holes were so big they rendered my ability to suspend disbelief (an ability I heretofore considered limitless and not just an ability but truly a meta human superpower granted by my X gene) completely and utterly useless. Every other scene had me shaking my head, mouth agape, hands pleading to the screen for answers that would never come.
I think I would have liked it more if it was more tongue in cheek (ala Starship Troopers–which pound for pound had more to say in terms of social allegory: discuss). But I didn’t want to just like District 9. I wanted to love it. Wasted opportunity IMHO
